- When printing goals, one goal continues
to spool multiple pages to print, How do I print this
goal?
- I've had a few other school systems report a similar problem.
I have not been able to track down the cause of the problem
because it happens very infrequently. I believe it is a conflict
between Filemaker Pro and the print drivers being used. There are
three ways to solve the problem.
- 1. Use the Print This Goal button on the goal layout to print
each goal individually
- 2. On the print layout select the Goal Pages to print, hold
down your Shift Key and then click Print IEP. This will force the
print dialog box to open . Instead of selecting All Pages specify
a print range (i.e., Pages 1 to 5) to print.
- 3. Delete the goal that prints multiple times.
- 4. Print to a local printer instead of an inkjet.

- How do I do the Recovery command when I
have a damages file?
- Power failures, hardware problems, improperly quitting a
program, and other factors
- can damage a program file. The program will tell you if you
have a damaged file. Once you know which file is damaged, you can
recover it. To recover a damaged file on a Macintosh, hold down
the Option-Command (apple key) while double clicking the start up
application. On Windows, hold down the Ctrl+Shift while double
clicking the start up application. Hold the keys down until you
see the Recover File dialog box. Select the damaged file and click
open.
-
- The recovery process will do the following:
- - create a new file
- - rename the damage file by adding old to the end of the
name
- - give the new repaired file the original name
- - the main purpose of Recovery is to allow you to recover your
data
-
- After the file is recovered you should:
- -install a new copy of the file from your original disks and
import the records from the recovered file into the newly
installed file.
-
- What is the best way to work on IEP at
home and school with the standalone version of the
program?
- The best way is to use a USB flash drive. The whole Practical
Solutions v6 folder can be copied to the USB flash drive. The
program can be launched from the flash drive on another
computer.

- Why aren't all of the current goals
and objectives on the progress report?
- When you generate a progress report, the goals and objectives
that are in the iep will transfer to the progress report. If you
add new goals/objectives or modify an existing goal/objective to
the iep, the changes will not transfer to the progress report. You
can delete the progress report and regenerate it or add a new
objective to the progress report. The options to delete or add can
be found under Commands (or Scripts) on the menubar in the
progress report.
