Version 9.1v2 2009 Upgrade from 8.x. Download these files if you want to update from Special EdNet Pro 8.0 thru 8.6 to the 2009-10 updates. Use this upgrade requires Filemaker Pro 8 thru 10 to access Special EdNet Pro. Do not install this if you have previously installed Special EdNet 9.0 this school year. Opening file
for version 9.0 – use this file to
easily connect to Special EdNet Pro 9.0. Open the file and enter the IP number for the server. The old opening file for Special
EdNet Pro 8.6 will continue to
open the old program and will no connect to the new version. |

convert from FileMaker Pro 5/6 to the new versions of FileMaker Pro, you will
first need to run the Convert version 6 to version 8. Then the version 8.6 2008-09
installation and then the 9.0 Update Patch |

Version 8.x to 9.0 Update Patch directions
1. Close all of the files on the server using the FileMaker Server
Admin
2. Make a backup copy of the data files in the Special EdNet folder
found in the Databases folder
3. Rename the following files:
Semanage.fp7
to oldSemanage.fp7
4. Place the new updated files into the Special EdNet folder on
the server. You should never be
prompted to replace or copy over a file in the update process. If this happens cancel the process
because something is not named properly.
5. Click the Update Special Ed Program button. NEVER Click this button twice. If you do, you
might end up with duplicate data.
FileMaker Pro must be loaded on the computer you are using to run the
update.
6. If you receive an error message about the MFEeval_OL during the update, disregard the message and click OK in the message box. You might also receive a network error when files open. You can disregard the error. Also disregard any messages about sharing the file across the network.
7. After updating remove the oldSemanage, and Update Special Ed files from the Special EdNet and Databases folders.
8. Open the new Opening file
(Open_New_Special_Ed_fp7) , enter the server IP number and distribute to your
users.
Conversion Directions for upgrading from 6.X to Special EdNet 8.6:
Converting steps
1. Contact Practical Solutions For Educators to receive your registration
number, account name and password needed to access Special EdNet 8.6
1.Open the Convert6to7 folder and move the Create Export files.fp5, IEPEMIS
export.fp5, Inactiveexport.fp5, Services.fp5, MFE export.fp5 and MFE
export2.fp5 files to the old Special EdNet folder. You will need to do this
on computer that has Filemaker 5/5.5/6 installed. You will need to
do this on a computer that has FileMaker Pro 5 or 6 installed. The v6_tov7.fp7 file should be moved to
the new Special EdNet 8.6 folder.
2. Open the Create Export files.fp5 file and click the Create Export .mer
files button. This procedure should create 18 .mer files
3. Move the .mer files to the new Special EdNet8.6 folder. This folder
needs to be a computer that has Filemaker Pro 8/8.5/9/10 installed.
4. Open the Special Ed_PS.fp7 file and enter the proper district heading and
registration number and click register. Close this file
5. Open the v6_tov7.fp7 file and click the Convert v6 to v7 button
6. After the importing is completed, save the .mer files to another location
and move the Special EdNet8.6 folder into the databases folder inside the
Filemaker Server folder
