Update Directions (read all directions first and follow these directions
exactly)
•FileMaker Pro needs to be installed on the same computer as FileMaker
Server. The network protocol should be set to none to avoid anybody trying to
connect to the files during the update process.
•Close data files and stop or quit the FileMaker Service
•Make a backup copy of your old data files in the Special EdNet folder(there
should be 35 files .FP5 files). Keep these back ups for an extended period of
time in case something didn't transfer properly. Do not leave the backup files
in the FileMaker Server folder.
•Rename the following old data files in the Special_EdNet6.5 folder found in
the FileMaker Server folder:
IEPemis.fp5 to oldIEPemis.fp5
IEPGoals.fp5 to oldIEPGoals.fp5
IEPTesting.fp5 to oldIEPtesting.fp5
IEPWriter.fp5 to oldIEPWriter.fp5
IEPxtra.fp5 to oldIEPxtra.fp5
mfe.fp5 to oldmfe.fp5
MFEeval.fp5 to oldMFEeval.fp5
MFE_Extra.fp5 to oldMFE_Extra.fp5
Semanage.fp5 to oldSemanage.fp5
Splogin.fp5 to oldSplogin.fp5
UserValue.fp5 to oldUserValue.fp5
•Extract the Update Patch files and move the files (not the folder
containing the files) to the Special Ednet folder on the server.
•Open the Spednet6_9 Update.fp5 file and click the Update Button. At no time
should you be prompted to find a file or asked to replace a file during the
update process. If this happens the update procedure was not followed properly
and some data might not have updated properly. If you are prompted to enter a
password during the import process use "create"
•After updating is complete, quit FileMaker Pro.
•Delete the Spednet6_9 Update.fp5 file and any renamed files (beginning with
old). If there is a file named DS_Store, delete it.
•The Special EdNet folder should have 35 or 36 .fp5 files remaining in it
(if you are using the Spedforms file or custom made files, there might be more
files). Make sure there is only one set of data files in the FileMaker Server
folder.
•Restart the FileMaker Service
